Pete Miller's Steak and Seafood, the new Premier Naperville Restaurant, is looking for a line cook. A line cook is responsible for prepping ingredients and assembling dishes according to restaurant recipes and specifications. Memorize and utilize company procedures to cook all food in a coordination with the other line cooks, and deliver all dishes to the Executive or Sous Chef, in a timely fashion.


  • Set up and stocking stations with all necessary supplies
  • Prepare food for service (e.g. chopping vegetables, butchering meat, or preparing sauces)
  • Cook menu items in cooperation with the rest of the kitchen staff
  • Answer, report and follow Executive or Sous Chef’s instructions
  • Clean up station and take care of leftover food
  • Stock inventory appropriately
  • Ensure that food comes out simultaneously, in a timely fashion, and to our quality standards
  • Comply with nutrition and sanitation regulations and safety standards
  • Maintain a positive and professional approach with coworkers and guests


  • Proven cooking experience, including experience as a line cook, restaurant cook or prep cook
  • Excellent understanding of various cooking methods, ingredients, equipment and procedures
  • Accuracy and speed in executing assigned tasks
  • Familiar with industry’s best practices
  • Knowledge of a second language is a plus
  • Must be able to carry trays or supplies (10-30 lbs.)
  • Must be available to work on nights, weekends and holidays
